The Kasoa Sector of the Ghana Immigration Service in the Central Region has organized a food competition to boost staff morale and promote team building. The event, held at the service’s headquarters, saw participants showcasing their culinary skills and creativity.
Staff members prepared a variety of Ghanaian and continental dishes, with judges awarding points for taste, presentation, and creativity. The competition aimed to foster camaraderie and provide a platform for staff to unwind and socialize.
The Sector Commander, Assistant Commissioner Fati Yahala Esq. in her remarks, emphasized the importance of teamwork and collaboration among staff. She also used the occasion to urge foreigners residing in Ghana to adhere to the laws of the country and secure valid resident permits.
“As we celebrate our diversity, we must also remind ourselves of our responsibilities as public servants and the need for foreigners to respect our laws,” he stated.
Furthermore, she called on security agencies to tighten security at the borders to prevent the smuggling of illegal drugs into the country. “We must be vigilant and proactive in safeguarding our borders and preventing the influx of illicit substances that threaten the health and well-being of our citizens,” he added.
The Kasoa Immigration Service said the event was part of its efforts to promote staff welfare and teamwork. The food competition was between Shift A and Shift B. At the end of the competition, Team Shift B emerged as winners of the food competition.
