The Authorities in Kasoa Kumbe and Kasoa Opeikuma in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region have vehemently condemned an eviction exercise that was carried on by one Kwame Baafi on Friday 21st February, 2025 which rendered over 200 residents homeless.
If we could recall, we reported that over 200 stranded residents at Kasoa kumbe in the Awutu Senya East Municipality have clashed with police and over 100 landguards following force eviction.
According to the residents, they were there and the gangs in two sprinter bus came with police and started chasing them out from their rooms.
They said, one man called Kwame Baafi claim he has order of possession from Winneba High Court to take over about 10plot of land.
The residents noted that they weren’t given any prior notice before the exercise.
Commenting on the recent development, the Assemblyman of Kasoa Opeikuma-Kumbe electoral area, Hon. Adams Habibullah noted that the fact that prior notice wasn’t given to the residents of the land raises a lot of concerns and seems be act of illegality and he thus condemned the eviction exercise.
He added that non of the authorities in the community and the Awutu Senya East Constituency were aware of the exercise. He thus called for an end to land disputes.
