An Educationist and Founder of Kingsarth Edutainment, Mr. Kingsley Arthur is urging parents in Ghana to allow their children to be disciplined at school, fostering a collaborative approach between parents and educators to promote positive behavior and learning.
Effective discipline requires a united front between parents and teachers. Parents should be open to school disciplinary actions and understand that these measures are intended to support their child’s growth and development.
Speaking to Journalists on the sidelines of a Quiz Competition organized among schools in kasoa to mart the Ghana Month celebration, Mr. Kingsley noted that it’s crucial to view school discipline as a teaching tool, not just punishment. School rules and consequences help children learn to follow rules, understand right from wrong, and develop self-control.
Parents should be actively involved in their child’s education and behavior, including monitoring their progress and communicating with teachers about any behavioral concerns.
Parents and schools should work together to establish clear expectations and consistent disciplinary practices. This can involve regular communication, shared understanding of school policies, and joint efforts to address behavioral issues.
A strong community, including parents, teachers, and school administrators, can create a supportive environment where children feel safe, respected, and encouraged to learn and grow.
