This choice is a component of a major rebuilding project meant to give the Porcupine Warriors new life before the upcoming season.
In a post-season interview with the Asante Kotoko media team, Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum announced that his team will not be adding players from the lower division.
“We need to do a lot of structural changes in the playing body with respect to signing of some players to augment the squad. This time not players from lower division but players who have seen it in the Premier League,” said Ogum.
Ogum added that the team must move quickly in the transfer market to acquire the players they require to strengthen their roster.
“We need to go there as early as possible to make sure that the players that we want we are able to get them as quickly as possible.”
The Porcupine Warriors are keen to improve significantly despite finishing the season with 49 points, 12 points behind champions Samartex.
A significant number of players leaving the team highlights the need for fresh talent to increase the team’s competitiveness.
