Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé reportedly refused to take participate in a photo session with the France National team on Tuesday, due to concerns regarding his image rights.
Players are required to participate in marketing initiatives under the terms of the current agreement, but Mbappe is uncomfortable promoting betting companies and fast food brands that are linked to the French Football Federation (FFF).
Following the standoff a meeting was held by the FFF in the presence of Didier Deschamps, captain Hugo Lloris, vice-captain Raphaël Varane, and Mbappé.
After the meeting the FFF issued a statement saying they are “delighted to work on the outlines of a new agreement which will allow it to maintain its interests all the while taking into consideration the concerns and legitimate convictions unanimously expressed by its players.”
According to RMC Sport, Kylian Mbappé has now agreed to join the contingent for the marketing operations after the French Football Federation’s statement to revise the international convention on image rights.
