La Liga Outfit Rayo Vallecano Complete Deadline Signing Of Ghana Defender Abdul Mumin

Spanish Laliga side Rayo Vallecano has confirmed the signing of Ghanaian defender Abdul Mumin from Vitória de Guimarães on a four-year deal.

Mumin was a transfer target for a number of clubs across Europe including Valencia, Girona, and Lille but chose to sign for the Red Sashes.

The 24-year-old is a graduate of Right To Dream Academy and was part of the squad that won the Gothia Cup tournaments in 2014 and in 2015.

He signed his professional contract with Danish side FC Nordsjælland in 2016 and had a loan stint with HB Køge in 2018 before joining Portuguese Primeira Liga club Vitória on a four-year deal where he made 53 appearances across all competitions in two seasons.

At the end of December 2021, Mumin received his first call-up to the Ghana national team — being summoned to the squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in January 2022 and was part of Ghana’s squad that beat Nigeria to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.
