An Educationist and Director for Penuel International School located at Kasoa Opai-kuma Dr Alex Lavoe has made a passionate appeal to Ghana education service and ministry of education to make Information and Communication Technology (ICT) a compulsory subject especially at the secondary school level for students than making it optional .
Dr Alex Lavoe is of the view that, the only way the country can develop or catch up with the Western world is to specialise in ICT. According to him, through technology some student of Penuel International has been able to develop a chemical which can kill mouse Instantly .
Director added that, Penuel International School has already begun implementing TVET and ICT module of teaching and highlighted of the benefits it has accrued them.
Dr Alex Lavoe made this pronouncement during the 10th anniversary celebration of academic excellence . The school management also awarded hardworking and ousting staffs during the anniversary.
Meanwhile Awutu Senya East Education Director Faustina Alimatu Brimah who was a guest speaker for the anniversary says it is time to move from the grammarian form of Education to the skill and technical based education coupled with information technology.
According to the Directorate, the inculcation of TVET education will give the ordinary student skill and will in the end industrialize the economy as students gain various skill and become innovation inclined.
Director Faustina Alimatu Brimah noted that schools must adopt the TVET module of teaching to ensure industrialisation.
