Liverpool Edged Out Man City In An Enthralling Encounter At Anfield

Liverpool edged out Manchester City in an enthralling encounter at Anfield which saw manager Jurgen Klopp sent off.

The Reds put their recent Premier League struggles behind them to end City’s unbeaten run with Mohammed Salah netting a second half winner after Ederson had denied him earlier.

The Egyptian raced onto a clearance from keeper Alisson Becker after Joao Cancelo’s failed attempt to deal with the ball before slotting home with a composed finish.

This came after Phil Foden’s goal was disallowed by VAR following Erling Haaland’s foul on Fabinho in the build up.

Klopp finally found the Midas touch that got Liverpool going from start to finish but the German tactician was shown a straight red for protesting a supposed foul on Salah.

Erling Haaland came close in few instances but he was tamed in most parts of the game as the reigning champions failed to find a way for the first time in a Premier League game this season.

The defeat to the Citizens has allowed Arsenal to go top of the Premier League after the Gunners 1-0 win at Leeds United.
