Majority leader Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu escapes lynching at the hands of angry youth in Suame [Video]

Earlier today, during a meeting with his constituents, Majority Leader and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu had to be escorted away by police officers to save his life.

The legislator’s appearance infuriated the demonstrators in the Suame Constituency who had been protesting the state of the roads, and they threatened to attack him.

They were about to bash him up until the Ashanti area Police intervened early.

Some of the enraged locals yelled at him and tossed various objects in his way.

You may remember that last Friday, the craftsmen in Suame blocked the highway and protested the MP and the government for not making sure the road was fixed.

They vowed to stage another protest if the contractor did not return to fix the road.

In order to inspect the completed work, the contractor had returned to the road with the minister of parliamentary affairs.

After learning of the MP’s arrival, the enraged artists flocked to the roadway, where they began to honk and throw water sachets at him.

The MP, who was joined by Mr. Maxwell Ofosu Boakye, the Municipality Chief Executive for the neighbourhood, and a few party members, was forced to seek refuge atop a storey structure at Suame Tarkwa Makro.
