It was literally a walk over for Manchester City as they hammered Manchester United 6-3 in the derby at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Erling Haaland and Phil Foden scored three goals each as City cruised to a commanding win. Antony pulled one back before Martial hit a brace to reduce the deficit.
The Red Devils were on the ropes from the onset — Foden got the opener just eight minutes into the game while Haaland scored two goals in three minutes midway through the first half. Foden added the fourth on the stroke of half time.
Antony pulled one back with a beautiful curling effort as United looked to come back into the game but Haaland grabbed his third not long afterwards, becoming the first player to score three successive Premier League home hat-tricks.
Pep Guardiola’s men ruthlessness meant they were not done just yet. Phil Foden added his third and the sixth of City as they stretched the game beyond their fiercest rivals.
Anthony Martial headed home from close range before converting from the spot as Man United succumbed to an embarrassing derby defeat.
