Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has vowed never to cut his kinky hair following the hair-pulling incident involving Cristian Romero during the London derby.
Romero pulled Cucurella’s flowing locks during the London derby in an off the ball incident that has generated controversy over the weekend.
No action was taken by neither the referee nor VAR and moment later Harry Kane headed home the equalizer at the death to end the game 2-2 at the Stamford Bridge.
However, the Chelsea £62m summer acquisition insists he will never cut his hair to prevent it being pulled again in future games saying it is his ‘style’
“No. Never. This is my style.”
He added “It’s strange, I remember only one other time I had a player do that, I was very young, I was in the academy Under-12s, but I never had another episode of this since….I don’t know what happened with the referee. It’s the same: you kick my leg, you pull my hair. But the referee didn’t understand.”
Cucurella admitted it hurts as Romero pulled his hair and thinks the Tottenham ace should have been sent off.
Thomas Tuchel did not hide his feelings after the game. He was quoted as saying “Since when has it been permitted to pull an opponent’s hair?”
