Messi’s Match-Worn Jersey Sold At €43,623 At An Auction

As per Le Parisien, the jersey Lionel Messi worn against Angers on his return to action from the World Cup has been sold at an auction for a record breaking fee of €43,623.

He scored in the 72nd minute during the match.

The Argentine superstar’s shirt was sold along with other match-worn shirts worn by Paris Saint-Germain players during a Ligue 1 game on January 11 and Messi’s number 30 jersey set a record.

A Chinese bidder purchased the number 30 match-worn shirt for €43,623. He started the bidding at €22,000 and won it on the seventh bid.

Messi’s counterparts Mbappe and Neymar had their shirts went for €14,083 and €15,017 respectively on separate occasions.

Messi led Argentina to their elusive third World Cup title in Qatar after beating Mbappe’s France on penalties.

In November, Paris Saint-Germain implemented a system whereby player-worn shirts are auctioned off to the highest bidders after a game.
