Methodist Church Ghana Honours Mavis Hawa Koomson

The Methodist Church Ghana, through its Winneba circuit, has honoured the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East Constituency and Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson at its Bethel society in Kasoa.

Unveiling a fully furbished Conference Hall built in her honour at the Bethel Methodist Church, the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, Most Reverend Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo, praised the Awutu Senya East lawmaker for the many good works that she has been doing for the church, the Constituency and the country at large.

Most Reverend Paul Boafo reiterated that his office has taken notice of the much help the Honourable MP is offering the church at various levels, hence the need to personally come to honour the MP.

He admonished the Awutu Senya East MP to always acknowledge God for every achievement.

The Superintendent Minister in charge of Kasoa Circuit and Presider of the Bethel Methodist church in Kasoa, Reverend Samuel Kofi Kankam expressed his delight in witnessing an occasion like this.

Recounting the many blessings the MP had been to the church, Reverend Kankam mentioned the many people, especially the youth in the church that Mavis Hawa Koomson has helped secure various jobs.

 

Covid donations

The Superintendent minister recounted that during the Covid-19 lockdown, the Honourable MP supplied the church and its members with assorted food items on many occasions and also donated one thousand pieces of cloths to be shared among the church members.

He added that Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson donated over thousand and five hundred bags of cement and other cash payments in various forms on other occasions.

“I can count up to 45 churches that this MP has helped in many ways, not the Methodist church alone, but other churches and even Islamic groups and individuals. We won’t wait any further to honour her, she’s a blessing to the country”, Most Reverend Kankam added.

The respected Reverend added that the Presiding Bishop felt the need to personally do the honours because of the importance the church attaches to the gestures of the Hon. Minister.

Interacting with the media after the honours, Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson expressed her delight done her by the Methodist church, Ghana.

She added that she never expected that her little efforts to the church will be given such a great acknowledgement, to the extent that a whole conference hall has been built in her honour.

While expressing her commitment to continuing working for the Constituency and by extension, the whole country, Mavis Hawa Koomson appealed for continuous prayers to be said for her to continue impacting many lives.
