Under section 4 of the Fisheries Act, 2002 (ACT, 625) and with the approval of the President of the Republic of Ghana, the Hon. Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development (MoFAD), Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson has inaugurated the Fisheries Commission Board.
The Board will among other things; prepare and keep under continual review, plans for the Management and Development of fisheries in waters under the jurisdiction of Ghana; Establish priorities for the utilization of fishery resources that will provide the greatest benefits to the country, and ensure the proper conservation of the fishery resources through the prevention of overfishing.
