Ghana midfielder, Mohammed Kudus’ stunning strike against Liverpool in the Uefa Champions League has won Ajax goal of the month for September.
Mohammed Salah scored Liverpool’s opener via a penalty but Kudus replied with a sensational top of the corner strike to draw level before Joel Matip left it late with a powerful header in that Group A fixture in September.
The 22-year-old received numerous accolades after the game with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp describing the goal as ‘incredible’.
The Ghanaian has received the Lasse Schöne prize ahead of Wednesday’s trip to Napoli in their Champions League return leg.
They lost the reverse encounter 6-1 at home and Kudus was on the scoresheet as well but his goal could only be counted as a consolation.
“It feels good to win the award and it will motivate me to keep doing my best for the team.” Kudus said after receiving the award.
