Smart Nkansah a veteran highlife musician has criticised the Ghana music industry saying it’s players especially the leaders of the Music Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) and some musicians are not organized nor serious.
According to the “Nsem pii” composer, Ghana musicians are selfish and do not really understand showbiz.
He also said we as Ghanaian do not cherish and celebrate our own.
The leader of the famous “Sumsum” Band emphasized that other country have made him an icon while others have captured and study his musical prowess and achievements in various books and schools but his own country Ghana have never celebrated him.
He made these assertions when he appeared on the Throwback edition of Obaatanpa Radio’s After Drive show hosted by Ogboro Naghty last Thursday.
Smart later advised musicians who wish to take sides with political parties to be careful. He stated that, that move could hurt their music career.
