On 10th June, the Ghana police release a statement regarding the shooting incident that happened on 8th June at Bortianor in the Ga South Municipality who claimed the lives of 5 people claiming they were landguards and arm robbers.
Again, the police alleged that the suspect first open fire at the police and the ammunitions that were found on the suspects were disgusting and lies.
With regards to this, the family of the deceased has discribed the allegations as false .
Madam Adwoa Ofeibea mother of two among the five who were shot and killed in the process has invoke curses on the police administration for Killing Innocent people because one of his sons is a chief yet they have leveled allegations against him that he is landguard.
She has directed the gods to deal with those who are behind the death of his sons.
Madam Adwoa Ofeibea made this known to Mireku Nyampong during a press conference by the chief, family and elders of Bortianor.
Also, Bortianor Traditional Council is calling for an independent probe into the shooting of some individuals purported to be landguards by the Ghana Police Service .
The traditional authority has denied reports suggesting that the individuals were landguards terrorising residents of the area.
The Traditional Authority says the commitee set up by Parliament has failed to visit the enclave to ascertain the veracity of the matter.
Speaking to Mireku nyampong in an interview, some traditional authorities of the area shared their frustration even after the incident and urge government to do the needful.
Nii Djan Komey Kofi ( iii) Gyaasetse of Bortianor spoke on behalf of the chiefs.
Also, Rita Nii Quaye Wife of one of the deceased appealed to government to hear their plead since his husband left behind three children and taking care of them has become her biggest challenge.
