My campaign slogan signifies the grace of God in making things possible – Dr. Bawumia

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the NPP, asserts that his 2024 presidential campaign slogan, “It is possible,” symbolizes the immense grace of God, particularly in his own life.

During a meeting with the leadership of the Christian clergy of the Ahafo Region in Goaso, Dr. Bawumia recounted the trajectory of his life — from modest beginnings in the north to labouring in the UK and Canada to fund his education, to working at the Bank of Ghana, and finally to his role as Vice President of Ghana.

“When I reflect on my life; how I worked on a farm to earn extra money as a child in Tamale, how I drove a taxi in the UK to support my tuition, how I cleaned dormitories in Canada to sustain myself as a student, and where I stand today as Vice President and flagbearer of the NPP, I am certain it is by the grace of God,” Dr. Bawumia remarked.

“The course of my life convinces me that it is entirely possible for God to bestow His grace and favour on anyone, regardless of their origins,” he added.

Explaining his choice of the “It is possible” campaign slogan, Dr. Bawumia mentioned that before his election as the flagbearer of the NPP, many had publicly stated that it was improbable for the NPP to choose him as its leader due to his background.

“But I believed in God’s grace, so I affirmed, ‘It is possible.’”

“Now, there are those who say it is not feasible for me to be elected President. Once more, I declare, by God’s grace, ‘It is possible.’”

“I opted for ‘It is possible’ as my campaign slogan because it encapsulates the boundless grace of God to render the impossible, possible.”
