Nananom of Awutu Traditional Area in the central region has banned drumming and noise making on Awutuland, as part of their ritual performances ahead of the Awutu Awubia festival 2023.
Awutu Awubia festival is one of the most historic festival in Ghana which educate Ghanaians more on their believes and norms and their history as well.
Mireku Nyampong, in an interview with the traditional priest of Awutu Traditional Area, Otsor Odai Tutu averred that, the validation of this ban on noise making is bearly three weeks from 6th June to 27th June, 2023 as entreating all people on Awutuland to adhere to the protocol else face sanctions.
The Traditional Ruler has further highlighted on some other activities that is prohibited includes spinners playing music at pubs, church activities with instructions, funeral ceremonies, weddings amongst others.
Some Communities which will be affected are Awutu Beraku, Kasoa, Awutu Bawjiase, Awutu Saakwa, Awutu Adawukwa, Awutu Ntowkruwa Ofadaa, Awutu Ofaakor,Ofaso, Bontrase, Ahentia, Bosomabena etc.
Otsor Odai Tutu has therefore warn any culprit who will be recalcitrant will be delt with severely.
He therefore called on Residents of Awutu land, to desist from bringing Dogs to Awutu land since is a Taboo.
Otsor Odai is of the view that, because Nananom doesn’t permit dogs on their Land that is why dog attacking residents in Awutu Beraku is on the rise.
