Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party has made a passionate appeal to the people of Sefwi Bodi in the Western North Region to reconsider their voting pattern after consistently voting for the NDC without corresponding development to show.
Speaking at a rally in Amoaya in the Sefwi Bodi Constituency, the running mate to Bawumia emphasized the need for a change in leadership, highlighting the lackluster performance of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) representatives over the past 12 years.
Constituents in Sefwi Bodi have been voting for the NDC – both Parliamentary and Presidential – since the advent of the Fourth Republic in 1992.
“I’m appealing to the chiefs and people to rally together and cast a decisive vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to guide the next chapter of the nation’s forward movement. I’m also wondering why the constituencies, which have been so loyal to the NDC is lagging behind in terms of development.
“Unlike the NDC, the ruling NPP is a party which believes in all-inclusive development, and has, therefore, spread development projects to many parts of the country, including the Western North,”he said.
He was grateful to the chiefs and all stakeholders of the constituency for the enthusiastic reception and was confident Nicholas Andoh will unseat the NDC MP. He expressed disappointment in the NDC’s tenure, noting that the region has seen little progress under their representation.
Senior Campaign Aide to NAPO, Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu expressed his confidence in NPP to solve the numerous challenges affecting the people, noting that the current member of parliament has failed the constituents.
