The National Security Ministry under the leadership of Hon. Albert Kan-Dapaah has organised maiden edition of the National Security Law and Policy workshop for its agencies in Accra
The two days workshop involves five(5) participants from each selected department within the Ministry and they are undertaking a training programme on a range of legal, policy and strategic instruments that underpin contemporary National Security
Delivering his speech at the opening of the Workshop, the National Security Coordinator, Maj. Gen Francis Adu-Amanfoh(RTD) said the purpose of the workshop is to take measures to help the players in the sector to foster a deeper understanding of current and emerging complex national security issues.
He was of the view that the Ministry of National Security and its Agencies are confronting new challenges in the world where the legal environment requires professionals to respect human rights and due process.
Maj. Gen Francis Adu-Amanfoh(RTD) called on the participants to take the training seriously because it will play a key role if they are to succeed in this challenging environment
On his part, Mr Osei Bonsu Dickson, Director of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of National Security said there was the need to equip the staff to be abreast with the changes that transpired in the sector
He expressed that the program has come at the right time because training is one key component that security agents have to be conscious of it
