Preparations are underway for the final mega rallies of Ghana’s two leading political parties, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), set to take place today in Accra.
The NPP will host its rally at the University of Ghana Sports Park, while the NDC will gather at Zurak Park in Madina. Both events are expected to draw massive crowds, with security measures intensified by the Ghana Police Service, including the deployment of two helicopters for aerial surveillance.
Traffic diversions have been implemented to ease congestion and prevent potential clashes between supporters of the two parties.
Top party figures, including NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and NDC flagbearer John Mahama, will address their supporters, delivering their final campaign messages ahead of the December 7 elections.
Both parties remain confident in their prospects and aim to energize their bases for a strong showing at the polls.
The Electoral Commission (EC) has called for peaceful and orderly rallies, urging supporters to follow designated routes and comply with guidelines. Police officers will be stationed at key points to ensure safety and assist party members.
These rallies mark a critical moment in the campaign, as both parties strive to rally voter support and make their final case to the electorate.
