Newcastle United Confirm The Signing Of Alexander Isak

Newcastle United have announced the signing of Alexander Isak for an undisclosed fee.

The Sweden striker joins the premier league side from Real Sociedad and has signed a long-term deal at the St. James’ Park.

Isak becomes the Magpies’ fourth first team signing of the summer after Matt Targett, Nick Pope and Sven Botman and will wear shirt number 14.

Alexander Isak said: “I’m delighted to have it done. It was a big, big decision for me but it is a decision I am really happy with.”

“It is a great, historical club that I think anyone would like to play for, with amazing fans. They were a big part of why I came here – and also the club’s project, which is one that I really believe in.” The 22-year-old added.

The 22-year-old started his professional career with AIK in 2016. He had a short stint with Borussia Dortmund and Willem II before signing with Real Sociedad in 2019.

He made his full international debut in 2017, and has won more than 30 caps for his country, having represented them at UEFA Euro 2020.

He is the youngest ever goalscorer for both AIK and the Sweden national team.
