Nicolas Cage is reprising his role as Spider-Man Noir!

On Tuesday (May 14), it was announced that the 60-year-old Oscar-winning actor will be starring in the upcoming Spider-Man live-action series Noir, which has been ordered to series at MGM+ and Amazon Prime Video.

The series will debut domestically first on MGM+ before a global launch on Prime Video, Variety reported.

Per the official logline, Noir will tell the story “of an aging and down on his luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.”

Nicolas first voiced Spider-Man Noir in the 2018 animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

This will be the first time the character will be portrayed in a live-action project.

“Expanding the Marvel universe with ‘Noir’ is a uniquely special opportunity and we are honored to bring this series to our global Prime Video customers,” Vernon Sanders, the head of television for Amazon MGM Studios, shared in a statement. “The extremely talented Nicolas Cage is an ideal choice for our new superhero and the accomplished producing team with Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Amy Pascal, and the incredible team at Sony is dedicated to expanding this franchise in the most authentic way.”

In a recent interview, Sam Raimi – who directed the Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire – addressed the possibility of making a fourth movie.
