The Medical Director of the greater Accra Regional Hospital,Dr. Emmanuel Srofenyoh has assured Ghanaians that Ghanaians that the No Bed Syndrome is a now a thing of the past at his facility due the establishment of Bed Management Bureau to help address the issues.
According to him one major issue Hospitals face is the patients to bed ratio in the country.
Speaking at the 5th anniversary celebration launch of the operationalization of the new ultra-modern Greater Accra Regional Hospital,he said the Hospital organises Community engagement to meet Community members to receive useful feedbacks on quality of their services.
He added that, the Hospital has established a strong research infrastructure and a research Department to promote and coordinate research activities with a vision to make the Hospital a strong research facility in the country.
The facility started as a Hospital for the European expatriates around 1928,became a district Hospital after Ghana’s independence in 1957 and was later designated as Ridge Regional Hospital in 1997;redeveloped and transformed into an ultra-modern 420 bed capacity Hospital with the full complement of specialist to provide cutting edge medical services to Ghanaians and beyond.
Further he opined that the implementation of an effective Functional and Central Emergency Systems has made the greater Accra Regional Hospital a major destination for emergency referrals in the city.
