Kasoa based Obaatanpa Media Foundation launched her first member of the group Obaatanpa Radio with the dial 92.5.
The station which was previously online has been on test transmission for three months now and was duly launched into full swing operation on Monday, 3rd May which is also celebrated as World Press Freedom Day.
The ceremony saw lots of dignitaries including the MP for Awutu Senya East and Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson and the director of Education of the municipality.
The chairman of the occasion, Mr. Evans Agyakwa in his speech advised the staff of Obaatanpa Radio to give their audience good content as well as a platform to express themselves. He also cautioned them to give accurate news.
The Hon. Minister also added that she won’t permit any radio station to advertise juju men and fake pastors which is believed to be the cause of recent ritual killings in Kasoa.
Mrs. Hawa Koomson said Obaatanpa Radio must endeavor to speak the truth at all times and assured management of the station of her relentless support.
The CEO of Obaatanpa Radio, Mr. Emmanuel Affram Anim, said his vision is to have a mouthpiece that will reveal the truth and change the negative perception about Kasoa.
He, therefore, urged the people of Kasoa to accept and support the station.
