Africa’s fastest growing media platform Obaatanpa Network’s first brand Obaatanpa Radio, is one year old.
Obaatanpa Radio’s main objective is to redefine radio broadcast by operating 60 percent music and 40 percent talk policy to make it more attractive, content wise, marketing and entertaining.
The station from its plush offices in Kasoa, operates a successful mix of well trained radio and media personnel.
A year on it has been a colorful mix of celebration and indeed everything that was pleasing to the eye when staff and discerning listeners of this great local station turned out last Monday to launch its first anniversary celebration at the office of Obaatanpa Radio.
Since its establishment the station has indicated its readiness in all facets of broadcasting and how determine they were to properly sell their products as evidence in the way and manner they have been able to manoeuvre their way to strategize to woo personnel to mark their various departments to educate, entertain and inform positively.
The questions being asked now is did Obaatanpa Radio bring to the golden table any significant change in radio broadcasting? Has the station been able to make the needed impact as expected by the owners meeting their vision and inspiration by attracting the needed listenership, turnover and sponsorship to acknowledge their investment drive?
Indeed, these days with the proliferation of radio stations, it takes a lot of diligence, determination, sacrifice and more importantly collective team work to compete with the market force as far as demand and supply is concerned hence Obaatanpa Radio is on course.
Perhaps, out of enviness or infantile curiosity we will be expecting more but ‘hey’ those doubting Thomases should take inspiration from the educative programmes and social responsibility carried out so far.
For now the focus is not on the “one year on of Obaatanpa Radio” but rather to direct the energy to that successful first anniversary celebration.
Almost everybody who matters in Obaatanpa Radio (whose frequency modulation is 92.5) for a strong and quality reception was there to give a moral support.
Among them was the HR of Obaatanpa Network, Mrs. Selina Anim.
In her short acceptance speech she expressed the company’s appreciation to the loyal listeners for their support and dedication since its establishment and also commended the staff for their hard work and dedication.
The station’s Manager at Obaatanpa Radio, Mr. Nathaniel Nortey, disclosed that the event is also aim to celebrate their customers and show that they hold them high in esteem.
He expressed the hope that such initiative would help them interact more with customers and explore ways of improving quality customer services.
