Ghana Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak has confirmed the appointment of Serbian trainer Slavko Matić as the club’s new Head Coach in a short-term deal.
“We are glad to have Slavko Matic as our new Head Coach. Let’s welcome our new Gaffer”, the club announced across its social media platforms.
Matić has penned a two-year contract with the Phobians and will be assisted by coach David Ocloo who led the team on interim basis in their CAF Confederation Cup drubbing against AS Bamako.
He has been tasked to win the betPawa Premier League and the MTN FA Cup.
The 46-year-old holds a UEFA Pro Licence and will be managing in Africa for the first time, having managed in Europe and in Asia. He had a stint with Napredak Krusevac, OFK Beograd, Novi Pavar and FK Sloboda Uzice in Serbia and Al-Shamal SC and Al Ahli Doha in Qatar.
The Serbian also had a short-term spell with Saudi Arabia side Al-Nojoom FC and was the assistant manager of Nantong Zhiyun FC and Henan Jianye during his time in China.
