One person identified as Kwaku Addae, 46, died at the spot whiles two others on board in a Hyundai Quashai 4*4 with registration number ER 242 – 20 involved in a fatal accident at Gomoa Akotsi on the Winneba – Awutu Beraku – Kasoa Stretch of the Highway this night when returning from a funeral at Fante Nyankomasi near Assin Fosu.
Information gathered indicates the driver of the vehicle veered off from the Highway to the outer lane just to dodge a heavy traffic only to hit a heaped chippings mixed with coaltar and the vehicle summersauting a number of times.
In all, the deceased sitting at the front (passenger side) died at the spot leaving the driver and a lady at their sustaining severe injury and receiving treatment at the Awutu Beraku Health Center.
An Eyewitness, Andrews Odoom who was rightly following the driver and saw what actually happened narrated his ordeal to Obaatanpa News Mireku Nyampong after visiting the scene.
Police in Awutu Beraku have since conveyed the body and deposited at the Winneba Trauma and specialist hospital for further actions.
