MCE for Effutu in the Central Region Kassim Ziberu has been accused of unlawfully demolish over 20 houses at Gomoa Pretu- Akyir near Winneba junction.
Some aggrieved victims says they falls under Gomoa Central district but not under Effutu municipal.
Information gathered indicates that, the MCE lost a court case between the owner of the land last week Tuesday that provoked the MCE to conduct such exercise.
Mustapha Ali Harun, the landowner who also happens to be a victim, revealed that the Assembly had been disposing of toilet waste on their property, and that they had successfully sued to have them cease, believing that this had prompted the MCE to carry out the illegal destruction.
Mustapha Ali Harun claims in an interview with Obaatanpa News that Effutu MCE Alhaji Kasim Zubairu sent a team and purported NPP party members to go inside for their permits as soon as he lost the case, and in the course of doing so, they began demolishing innocent homes with permission from the Gomoa Central District Assembly.
Meanwhile some of landlords alleged that, the MCE has connived with Central Regional Lands Commission Chairman to demolished their properties. They however called on nana addo to intervein and call MCE Hon Kassim Ziberu to order.
Furthermore MCE for Effutu Municipal Assembly, Alhaji Kasim Zubairu also denied the allegations levelled against him but says they went to that area but believed that, the demolishing exercise he wasn’t part.
