Cristiano Ronaldo is set captain the Al Nassr-Al Holal combined XI for their upcoming friendly against Paris Saint-Germain on Thursday.
The former Manchester United forward will make his debut on the Arabian land later this week and will captain the All-Star XI consisting of players from the two most decorated clubs in the Saudi Pro League as they take on Ligue 1 champions, PSG.
Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Entertainment, Turki Al-Sheikh, confirmed the news on Twitter – posting a video of himself handing the armband to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
The 37-year-old will make his competitive appearance for Al Nassr on Sunday when they take on Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League.
The star studded showdown will see the Portuguese superstar come up against longtime rival Lionel Messi.
Ronaldo parted company with Manchester United in November following his controversial interview with Piers Morgan prior to the World Cup in Qatar. He later signed a €2000 million deal with Saudi Al Nassr that saw him become the highest paid footballer in history.
Across his two spells with Manchester United, the Portugal captain netted 145 goals and 64 assists.
