POST ELECTION VIOLENCE: NPP WARNS NDC SUPPORTERS AGAINST VIOLENCE AND INTIMIDATION

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has condemned the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for engaging in lawless behavior, attempting to force election officials to declare results in their favor.

The NPP’s General Secretary, Lawyer Justice Frimpong Koduah, speaking at a press conference, warned NDC supporters against vandalizing properties and intimidating opposition members.

He Emphasized that in the Greater Accra region, NDC members captured and locked up the regional office of the Electoral Commission (EC), chasing out state security personnel and disrupting the coalition process.

Similar incidents have been reported in other constituencies, including Central North, where parliamentary candidates and EC officials were held at gunpoint or physically assaulted.

President-elect John Dramani Mahama has actually condemned the violence himself, urging Ghanaians to remain calm and avoid actions that could harm the nation’s institutions and democracy.
