A Research conducted by Rand Medical Imaging and Health Systems has revealed that Hypertension, Diabetes and High Cholesterol are major health implications among the aged (40years upwards) among the people of Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.
According to the research, road traffic accidents and Pregnancy are the leading things among the people of Kasoa however, above mentioned diseases are very common among the inhabitants of Kasoa.
Speaking to Obaatanpa news on the sidelines of Rand Medical Imaging and Health Systems 5years Anniversary celebration and Commissioning of Ultra Modern CT SCAN Laboratory, the CEO of the Health facility who doubles as a Senior Radiologist at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Dr. Rosemond Aboagye noted that Tuberculosis is also common among the people in Kasoa.
The Situation she described as worrying to the health safety of indigenes of Kasoa.
Dr. Rosemond Aboagye said that the CT SCAN Laboratory is first ever in Kasoa and it seeks to address the major health concerns among the people without having to travel long distance to access quality Healthcare.
She also advised the people of Kasoa and Ghanaians to make their health be their major priority by checking up to hospitals regularly.
Dr. Rosemond Aboagye added that her foundation which is Rand Foundation is aiming to build a community library for the good of people of Kasoa to help enhance the education in Kasoa but availability of land for the construction is a problem now.
She then made passionate appeal to the the District Education Directorate, Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly, the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomsonand the Traditional Leaders to come together and make available a land for the community library construction.
