David Ayornu, 31, of Lufenya, near Kasseh in the Ada East District, who allegedly murdered his wife on June 3, died in police custody in Ada.
Rapper Bee, aka Ayornu, was arrested for reportedly stabbing his wife in the belly, causing her death.
Chief Superintendent Atsu Dzineku, Ada Divisional Commander, confirmed Ayornu’s death to Ghana News Agency.
The suspect was treated and released from Ada East District Hospital before being taken to the Kasseh police station for further investigation.
Chief Supt. Dzineku said Ayornu was processed for court and remanded to help with investigations.
He claimed Ayornu’s other detainees saw he was unconscious on June 12 and called the police. He was declared dead at Ada East District Hospital.
He said the corpse was in Sogakope Hospital’s mortuary for preservation and investigation.
Acting Chief of Lufenya near Kasseh and the deceased’s uncle verified the event to the GNA.
So, as it stands, his family will work with the police to make arrangements.
