The 71-year-old mother of the missing former Ghana international Christian Atsu, Madam Comfort, has bitterly cried to God to take her and bring back her son instead.
Atsu remains missing three days after he and thousands of others were the victims of a huge earthquake hitting parts of Turkey.
Initially, the Hatayspor midfielder was reported to have been found, bringing relief to all Ghanaians.
However, that turned out to be fake news as his agent confirmed Wednesday that they have no idea of Atsu’s whereabouts. We’ve now entered the third day and chances of finding the former Newcastle winger get bleaker each day.
Sports journalist Dan Kweku Yeboah visited Atsu’s family Wednesday following the confirmation that he’s still missing.
Atsu’s mum was in bitter tears as she begged God to take her instead.
“It will be better for me if I lose my life and Atsu lives because he is everything to us. He is our only hope. I could not sleep when I heard the news. We have been praying throughout,” she said.
