New reports coming in say that unregistered SIM cards of customers will be restricted this week by Telecommunication services.
The communications Minister, Ursula Owusu Ekuful last month, extended the deadline for the registration of SIM cards with the Ghana card.
In midst of the brouhaha, the government has launched a SIM Card registration Self-Service Application (App). The App is intended for subscribers who have done Stage 1 of their SIM card registration to complete Stage 2, a statement issued by the National Commission (NCA) said.
“The App called ‘GH SIM SELF REG’, is currently available for downloads on the google play store, the statement added. The new App launched by the Ministry of communication and Digitalization will enable customers who are yet to link their Ghana cards to their SIM cards to find it easier.
However, it seems the second deadline, which is the 31st of August has fastly approached as Telcos are to start restricting calls of unregistered SIM cards.
