Entertainment pundit, Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo, has supported Ghanaian actor, John Peasah, known as Drogba from the TV series YOLO, in reminding Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia about an unfulfilled promise.
Arnold believes that since the vice president voluntarily promised to support Drogba’s healthcare, a public reminder is appropriate, given the promise remains unfulfilled.
The entertainment pundit noted that considering the severe pain Drogba is enduring due to his health issues, it is wise to remind those who have pledged support.
He urged Dr. Bawumia to fulfill his promise to help alleviate Drogba’s suffering.
“I am sure the VP promised to assist in the treatment of his ailment abroad. We know how busy the vice president has been with campaign activities, so there is nothing wrong with Drogba serving a reminder because he is in pain. If it’s been months without feedback, he is not wrong to remind him.
“I am sure he has been expecting it for long and is going through pain. So, whoever has been tasked by the vice president to settle the issue, we are pleading with you to do the needful,” he said in Twi on UTV’s United Showbiz, hosted by MzGee, on August 3, 2024.
This statement follows Drogba’s social media post reminding Dr. Bawumia about his promise to support his treatment abroad.
In March 2024, it was disclosed that John Peasah was battling a serious health condition called demyelination, which affects the nervous system and can impact vision, coordination, and sensation.
His sister, Hannah Mensah, shared that Peasah’s health issues emerged during the final season of ‘YOLO’.
In response to his condition, there has been a significant show of support, including a visit and financial contribution from Dr. Bawumia, as well as Drogba’s friends.
