Police at Akrokerri near Obuasi in the Ashanti Region have confirmed to MyNewsGh.com that suspected thieves raided a Health Centre in the area and made away with patients’ mobile phones on admission.
According to the Medical Assistant of Akrokerri Health Centre, Madam Comfort Owusu, the suspected thieves entered the Health Centre and stole three (3) mobile phones all valued at Ghc 7200.00 belonging to some patients who were on admission and bolted.
She therefore lodged a complaint with the Akrokerri Police who confirmed the same but indicated that the matter was being investigated and promised to arrest the suspected thieves.
Meanwhile, managers of the facility have heightened security to avert a similar occurrence when reporters of this portal visited the area.
