“Things are becoming scary in the NPP”, take good care of yourselves” – Captain Smart ‘warns’ members

Captain Smart

Presenter on Onua TV, Captain Smart has revealed additional information regarding the alleged poisoning incidents involving the late Member of Parliament for Ejisu, John Kumah.

Smart’s earlier reports, made in late February 2024, alleged that Kumah and other prominent members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) were targeted in poisoning schemes at different times. These claims gained attention following Kumah’s death announcement on March 7.

In a subsequent statement on Onua FM (March 8), Smart reiterated his earlier assertions and provided two new significant details. He discussed the frequency of the attacks on the deceased and disclosed the identity of an individual with whom Kumah shared one of the poisoned meals.

“Things are becoming scary in the NPP, that is all I can say and it is important people take good care of themselves. Also, in this world, even if no one kills you, death will come your way at some point,” Smart stressed.

“John Kumah survived the first attempt in Greater Accra before he was attacked in the Northern Region and the Ashanti Region,” Smart disclosed before adding that Kumah shared one of the poisoned meals with the NPP’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Wontumi.

“The very food he ate was consumed by Wontumi too; I was looking at them,” the TV host added without mentioning which region he was referring to.

Wontumi, in his tribute to Kumah, recounted a moment when the deceased stood by his side during a health scare several months ago, which he believed would end his life.

A journalist from Wontumi FM has also extensively discussed how Wontumi and the late MP were allegedly “poisoned” during a meal of guinea fowl in Tamale last year while on an inter-party campaign stop.

Meanwhile, the widow of the MP has filed a complaint with the police, urging Smart to provide evidence for the claims made about the deceased’s health in February.
