Traders have thrown their hands in despair after fire gutted several shops at Kantamanto destroying properties and goods.
The Kantamanto market is one of the popular markets in Ghana that has been destroyed by fire on countless occasions.
According to reports, the fire started in the early hours of Tuesday, November 29, 2022, and destroyed several structures in the market including the goods in these structures.
Reports also say that firefighters got there on time but found it difficult to quench the fire as they ended up exhausting several tanks of water.
Traders and residents close by were reported to have carried basins of water to quench the fire after the fire service run of water. However, the cause of the fire is not yet known.
