A devastating Storey building under construction collapse has occurred at Kokrobitey-Agro Farm , claiming one person in his 40s life and other one in his late 30s in critical condition in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region sending shock-waves through the community.
The tragic incident prompted swift action from Divisional Police Commander who immediately contacted the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) for assistance.
Upon receiving the distress call, a team of firefighters from the nearby station rushed to the scene to join forces with the police and other emergency responders.
Regrettably, despite the combined efforts of the emergency response team, one life was lost in the collapse.
The deceased, whose identity has been disclosed as” Carpii”, was pronounced dead at the scene.
According Eyewitnesses, three persons were in the building when collapsed but two of them trapped with the remaining escaping death and injury.
An investigation into the cause of the building collapse has been launched, with officials from the GNFS, police, and other relevant agencies working together to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragedy however the contractor of the project has been apprehended by the police for questioning.
The Kokrobitey-Agro Farm community has been left reeling from the incident, with local residents expressing shock and sadness.
