TRANSFER: Tottenham Signs Arnaut Danjuma From Villarreal On Loan

Tottenham Hotspur have announced the signing of Arnaut Danjuma on loan from Villarreal until the end of the 2022/23 season, subject to international clearance.

Danjuma had reportedly agreed terms with Everton and completed his medical before Spurs successfully hijacked the move.

After completing the move Danjuma tweeted “To dare is to do. Let’s get to work!”

The Nigerian born began his career as a youngster in the Netherlands with TOP Oss and PSV before joining NEC Nijmegen in 2016.

Arnaud joined Club Bruggein the 2018/19 campaign and help them lift the Belgian Super Cup, scoring six goals in 25 games for the Belgian top-flight club, including two appearances in the UEFA Champions League.

The 25-year-old moved to AFC Bournemouth in August, 2019 and spent two years on the south coast — bagging 17 goals in 52 games, before switching to La Liga side Villarreal in August, 2021.

The Dutch forward became an integral player in Villarreal’s run to the Champions League semi-finals, scoring six goals in 11 appearances in that competition while adding a further 10 goals in 23 La Liga outings.

Antonio Conte has turned to the Dutch striker to bolster his attacking options as they chase Champion League qualification. They are three points off the top four following Monday night’s win over Fulham.
