#UCL: Dortmund Beat Chelsea In First-Leg Tie

Borussia Dortmund got the better of Chelsea following an enthralling encounter in the Champions League last-16 first-leg tie at the Signal Iduna Park.

Karim Adeyemi scored a brilliant solo goal to give the Black and Yellows a huge advantage ahead of the return leg at the Stamford Bridge on 7 March.

Chelsea dominated possession and created chances but somehow failed to put the ball in the back of net. Joao Felix hit crossbar and also shot wide while Reece James forced two brilliant saves out of Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel in the second half.

The tie appeared to be heading towards a barren draw as the hosts themselves struggled to create decent chances until the 63rd minute when Adeyemi broke loose.

The 21-year-old German-Nigerian scampered from inside his own half following a Chelsea corner, beat Kepa Arrizabalaga before passing the ball into an empty net.

Kalidou Koulibaly came close to scoring the equaliser but Emre Can swept the ball off the goal-line as Dortmund held on firmly to secure a vital win.
