Manchester United came from a goal down to dispatch Barcelona 2-1 and book their spot in the Europa League Round of 16 at Old Trafford.
Barcelona dominated the first half and got the reward for their performance after 18 minutes when Robert Lewandowski converted from the penalty spot. They could have added a couple but for their lack of cutting edge in front of goal.
But Man United rallied back right after the restart. Fred quickly levelling with a powerful strike two minutes into the second half. The equalizer rattled the visitors and they became passengers all over the place, with a disjointed team failing to put the jigsaw pieces all together.
And the Red Devils took absolute control of the game. Substitute Antony curled in the winner inside the penalty box midway through the second half to book their place in the last 16.
Erik ten Hag changes in the second half made the difference. A huge result ahead of Sunday’s Carabao Cup final clash with Newcastle.
