Ursula Owusu describes Tamale Central MP as a “madman” for referring to her as a lesbian

Ursula Owusu-Ekuful (MP) of Ablekuma West Constituency went nuts on the floor of parliament today, Wednesday, July 5, 2023, and attacked Murtala Mohammed, the Tamale Central MP.

The MP and Minister for Communication and Digitisation called her male colleague “madman” for referring to her as a lesbian.

The female MP, enraged, brought the male MP to task, claiming he had accused her of engaging in LGBTQI+ activities.

Mrs. Owusu-Erkuful became enraged after the Tamale Central MP repeatedly referred to her as a lesbian.

She claimed that only a madman would label his colleague MP as a lesbian when he (Muntala) had never witnessed her have sexual relations with his wife, daughter, or mother.

“I have repeatedly heard honourable Murtala refer to me as a practitioner of LGBTQ to the hearing of everyone in this house. I sat here and repeatedly hear him. It is only a madman who will refer to his colleague in this house as a practitioner of LGBTQ when you haven’t caught me having sex with your daughter, your wife or your mother.”

The Second Deputy Speaker, Andrew Asiamah Amoako, who was presiding directed the Tamale Central MP to retract comments that he (Asiamah) considered unparliamentary.

He had heard the MP make certain remarks that he was unwilling to repeat.

The Tamale Central MP first refused to withdraw, but eventually did.

Mrs Owusu-Erkuful afterwards removed her usage of the term “madman” and gestures that the Second Deputy Speaker deemed unparliamentary.
