VIDEO: Fungi, toads take over Olympic size KNUST swimming pool

The maintenance culture of Ghanaian public facilities have once again been brought to question after a video of one of the best swimming pools in the heart of Kumai, is left to rot

MyNewsGh.com has sighted a video of the once popular and much talked about Kwame Nkrumah Unity of Science and Technology (KNUST) Olympic size swimming pool in a bad state.

The pool which became a recreational place for students and sometimes the general public has been left unattended to and unattractive as fungi and toads have taken over the pool with other facility lacking maintenance.

It is unclear why the pool is in this state as it poses possible health treat with a very horrible smell.

One wonders why the university has failed to maintain this wonderful structure when there is an estate wing that takes care of the university’s facilities.

Former students and stakeholders are seething in anger over the abandoned state of the facility that hitherto was the place many had their first swimming lessons

Here are some reactions from some Ghanaians including old students of the University expressing their displeasure of the state of the pool.
