VIDEO: Police retrieve bag and chop box filled with stolen iPhones at Gbawe

The Ghana Police Service has retrieved a box and a bag full of stone iPhones at Gbawe in the Weija-Gbawe Municipality.

One of the popular activities that go on in the center of Accra is pickpocketing and snatching of phones of people.

A Twitter user identified as Solometer narrated on Twitter how about 4 out of the 40 attendees he led to an event were pickpocketed at the events.

He tweeted, “So my group of 40 arrived El Wak around 10 pm. We crossed the road from the lands commission building and walked to the first entrance where there were lots of people mostly with no tickets. Soon as we got near the crowd a huge fight broke out between one guy and the security”.

They started pushing the guy back with force almost causing a stampede and at that moment when people were trying to find their stamina their phones were gone. We later traced one of them around the venue but must have seen us looking around n bolted.

The Twitter user however narrated further disclosed that 1 of the missing phones was traced to Mallam Gbawe where they involved the police. The police then discovered in a room a bag and box full of phones.
