Angola head coach Pedro Goncalves says his side has what it takes to beat Ghana despite their improvement under Otto Addo.
The Palancras Negras will come up against the four time champions in Kumasi on Thursday, September 5, in the opening group game for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Ahead of the fixture, Goncalves has hailed Ghana’s improvement under Addo but believes his side also has been better.
“Otto Addo gives Ghana more flexibility in formation,” he told the press on Wednesday. “They can play in a line of five in the back or play in the line of four.
“I think Ghana is stronger right now, but we are also much stronger,” he added.
It will be his third meeting with Ghana in the last two years after facing them last year while Chris Hughton was in charge. In those two games, he lost one and drew the other.
Since Addo’s return, the Black Stars have played four games, winning two and losing one while the other ended in a stalemate.
The game is scheduled to kick off at 16:00 GMT.
