We are not serious from head to toe in Ghana – Adomba Effah

Kasoa based musician Adomba Effah popularly known as King of Kasoa has says Ghana is not a serious nation when it comes to entertainment.

He made this assertion when he was speaking on Obaatanpa Radio last Friday during the Entertainment Show hosted by Ogboro Naghty.

According to him, lack of planning has crippled our original genre of music which happens to be highlife and that we haven’t been able to pass it on from the older to the younger generation making it difficult to be sustained.

He said, ” We are not serious as a country and it is from head to toe. The people who started highlife could not even pass it on well due to lack of planning. At a point, even the likes of Daddy Lumba and Kojo Antwi were lost at what they called highlife which was actually not.”

He continued that ” Kojo Antwi for instance did reggae and not highlife mostly and those are people who were supposed to be taking the mantle from the typical highlife gurus and passing it on to the upcoming generation.

Adomba concluded that, it’s time we wake up as a country and then inculcate our identity in to our music and this must start right from the government level.
