Data Protection Commission (DPC) has assured Ghanaians that, they will do everything in their power to ensure privacy at the Data Controllers department.
The Data Protection Commission(DPC) which is an independent statutory body was established under the Data Protection Act. 2012 (Act 843) to protect the privacy of the individual and personal data by regulating the process of personal information.
Addressing the media at a press briefing, Executive Director for DPC, Ms Patricia Adusei-Poku said it is the duty of the commission to increase the number of data protection responsive organizations who collect and use personal information.
According to her the commission in consultation with the Attorney General has agreed to give them Prosecutor for them to create a fast track court to Prosecute all default institutions.
She added to it that, it’s time for the institution to be accountable to Ghanaians by registering with the Commission.
